                         EGGLESS CONDENSED MILK CHOCOLATE CAKE IN COOKER.

INGREDIENTS – [ 1 cup = 200 ml ]

  • Maida / APF – 1 cup
  • Cocoa pwdr unsweetened – 2 ½ tbsp
  • Baking pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp
  • Condensed milk – 1 cup sweetened
  • Oil – ½ cup [ odourless and colourless]
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Vanilla essence – 1 ½ tsp

PREPARATION

  1. Sieve the maida + cocoa pwdr + baking soda + baking powder twice and keep aside.
  2. Grease the baking tray .
  3. Remove the gasket and whistle from the cooker.
  4. Preheat the cooker on medium flame for 10 minutes OR high flame for 5 minutes. [ we make the cooker hot before placing in the tin.]
  5. After preheating, make the flame to lowest.

METHOD

Take condensed milk + oil + water in a mixing bowl and blend it well.

Slowly add the dry flour mixture and mix it with a spatula.[don’t have to beat or blend here ,just mix it ]

Pour it in the greased tin and tap it twice.

Place a stand inside the cooker in the centre. Be careful as the cooker is hot, use tongs .

Lower the flame to lowest.

Now carefully place the the tin on the stand without the tin touching the edges / sides of the cooker.

[***** remember there has to be gap between the tin and the cooker .The tin should no where touch the cooker from any sides.]

Close the cooker with the lid .

[ *****no whistle and no rubber gasket ]

Bake it on lowest flame for 30 to 40 minutes depending on the size of the tin and quantity of batter.

Do the tooth pick test after 30 minutes ,if it is not done , bake it again for more 5 minutes.

Again do the test .if it is done off the flame .

Don’t open the cooker for 5 mins.Allow to cool.

After 5 mins open the cooker and remove the tin using tongs.

After removing again allow it to cool for 10 to 15 mins.

Run a knife around the tin to loosen the cake .

Invert the tin on a plate.

Cooker cake is ready to serve whether plain or by frosting or by icing.

NOTES TO REMEMBER WHILE BAKING IN COOKER :-

  1. No gasket and no whistle.
  2. No water at the bottom.
  3. Always use a stand to place the tin as a separator between the cooker and tin..
  4. The tin should not touch the cooker from any sides that is why we use a stand.
  5. Be careful while placing the tin and removing the tin from the cooker as the cooker is very hot, Use tongs.
  6. Preheating the cooker is very important.
  7. Some use fine sand or salt at the bottom of the cooker upto 1 ½ inch height. I don’t use anything.
  8. Avoid non-stick cookers.
  9. Keep an old cooker just for this purpose.
  10. Use a tin which comfortably fits inside the cooker without touching the edges or sides of the cooker
  11. Baking time differs on the size of the tin and the amount of batter. Mostly it takes around 30 to 40 minutes for baking.
  12. You can bake any cake recipes or nankhatais /cookies in the cooker in same procedure.
