Methi paratha RECIPE

                                                                                 METHI PARATHA

Ingredients

  • Methi  – 1  bunch cleaned , washed , drained and chopped.
  • 1 – tsp jeera pwdr .
  • 2 tsp – green chilli ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp – chaat masala .
  • 1/2 tsp – turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp – ajwain
  • Salt as per taste.
  • Ghee / butter as needed
  • 2 tsp + 1 tsp – oil.
  • 1 tsp – Kasoori methi pwdr .
  • 1/4 cup – curd
  • Water to knead the dough.
  • 2 cup  – wheat flour cup .

METHOD
Take oil in a pan.
Fry the methi leaves till water completely evaporates.Once done off the flame and keep aside .
Take flour +  jeera pwdr, green chilli ginger , kasoori methi pwdr, chaat masala pwdr , turmeric pwder , ajwain  , curd ,  salt + fried methi leaves .

Mix well .

Knead it into a soft dough by adding water as needed . 

Divide the dough into equal portions.

Roll each portions into a soft ball with your palms and roll it with a rolling pin by dusting dry flour .

Roll into small parathas.
Place it on hot tawa.
When it is half done on one side flip it on other side and cook till half  done.
Now flip or turn and apply ghee or oil and cook till you see brown spots.
Repeat on the other side also.
Press the edges so that they get evenly cooked.
Serve hot with any chutney, pickle ,curd, sauce etc
I served it with garlic chilli chutney ,curd and peanut dry chutney.

NOTE

  1. If you want perfect circle use a circle lid to cut it, as I have done.
  2. Methi paratha goes well with chicken gravy giving you a murg chicken gravy flavour.
