                                                                       MUTTON IN GREEN MASALA

INGREDIENTS

  • Mutton – ½ kg
  • Onion -1
  • Coriander leaves – 3 cup
  • Mint leaves – 1 cup
  • Green chilli – 5 or as per taste
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander pwdr – 2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Fennel seed pwdr – 1 tsp [ optional ]
  • Whole garam masala – few [clove, cardamom, tejpatta, cinnamom ]
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste.

PREPARATION –

Marinate the mutton with little salt and lemon juice for minimum 1 hr  or overnight.

Make fine paste of onion + coriander leaves + mint leaves + green chilli + ginger garlic paste.

METHOD

Heat oil in a cooker.

Add the whole garam masala and let it splutter [don’t burn]

Add the onion paste and fry till oil separates.

Add garam masala pwdr + coriander pwdr + turmeric pwdr + fennel seed pwdr and fry till raw smell leaves.

Add mutton and fry for 2 minutes.

Add ½ or 1 cup water and mix well .

Adjust salt ,close the pressure cooker.

Cook till mutton is done [ 4-5 whistles]

NOTES

  1. I have used potato also ,use big pieces of potato.
  2. Water quantity depends on the consistency you want.
  3. You can also cook without pressure cooker, but it will take long time.
  4. I have used boneless mutton.
