Palak roti / SPINACH ROTI/ palak phulka

                                                                      PALAK PHULKAS /PALAK ROTI / PALAK CHAPATI

INGREDIENTS

  • Palak / spinach – 1 small bunch
  • Wheat flour – 3 cup
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Green chilli – 1 or as per taste
  • Ginger – small piece or use ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Chaat masala – ½ tsp
  • turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Kasoori methi – 2 tsp
  • Aamchur pwdr – ¼ tsp
  • Ajwain – 1 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil or ghee as needed

NOTE – WE CAN MAKE PLAIN ALSO WITHOUT ADDING ANY MASALAS.

PREPARATION

Chop the stems , clean , wash and rinse. Soak the leaves  in water for 2 mins to get rid of impurities. Drain the excess water .  Grind it with green chilli + ginger garlic paste into a fine puree. [add little water if required ]

METHOD

Take the flour in a plate .

Add garam masala + chaat masala + turmeric + amchur pwdr  + ajwain + kasoori methi + salt and mix well .

Add the puree little by little  and started mixing it .

Once mixed well , knead it into a soft dough . [ if required use water to knead ]

Drizzle 1 tbsp oil and knead it again .

Cover and keep aside for 20 minutes .

Divide the dough into equal portions and roll it into a soft ball.

Using a rolling pin ,roll the ball into thin or thick circleby dusting dry flour .

Place it on a hot tava and start roasting it on both sides.

Press on the edges with a spatula to allow it to puff.

Apply ghee or oil on both sides.

Remove and serve with any side dish .

NOTES

  1. Masalas can be adjusted as per ur taste .
  2. You can also add finely chopped coriander leaves to the dough.
  3. Goes well with non veg gravy or any spicy veg gravy .
