WHAT TO COOK FOR BREAKFAST ?
Breakfast is the important meal of the day .It is said we should have breakfast like a king. Breakfast gives the body and brain the fuel after an overnight fasting. It should be consumed within 2 hrs of waking. If you skip breakfast ,during the day you will crave for more high sugar and fatty snacks. Breakfast restores glucose levels and carbohydrates for the brain to function . Breakfast improves memory and concentration. For kids breakfast is a must.

What to cook for breakfast – ? is the biggest problem we ladies face everyday.
Here are some ideas of how we can make different recipes with the same ingredients , just by making few changes here and there. Sometimes change the flours /millets / veges /oats /cornflakes /different dals .Sometimes try Indian spices – sometimes just pepper pwdr / oregano /mixed herbs / chilli flakes /cheese . Sometimes play with the colour /texture .Sometimes even a change in the presentation .Some times same recipe with different accompaniment’s like different chutneys /different sambar /dip /sauces /chutney pwdr etc

1 – IDLI – with sambar /chutney – healthy breakfast .With idli batter and leftover idlis ,we can make many new recipes .Kanchivaram idli / idli Manchurian / lemon idli / masala idli / pepper idli and many more .

2 – UPMA – corn upma / green peas upma /carrot and cauliflower upma . Upma can be made of rava ,leftover idli, dosa, lapsi ,bread ,dhokla ,broken wheat ,oats etc. – just add different ingredients for variety .

3 – POHA [ BEATEN RICE ] – onion poha / potato poha / green peas poha / curd poha / lemon poha /sweet poha / jaggery poha / banana poha /add any veges etc With poha you can also make cutlets .

4 – Parathas – made of wheat flour and veg stuffing .We can either stuff the veges or mix it with the dough .We can try different types like cabbage paratha /cauliflower / kheema/ chocolate / palak /radish /potato /cheese / methi / springonion / paneer and many more .

5 – APPE – can be made with leftover batter of idli / dosa and also with rava. With the batter we can add finely chopped different veges /cheese . Infact we can use the appe pan for frying different vadas to reduce oil consumption .

6 – DOSA – With the dosa batter we can make paper dosa / masala dosa / ghee roast / uttappa with different toppings / Chinese stuffing / non veg stuffing etc .We can make 100’s of different types of dosas by experimenting with the batter and stuffing and topping .Batter can be made of different dals /flours /ragi etc
