Stuffed capsicum
STUFFED CAPSICUM / BHARWAN SIMLA MIRCH
INGREDIENTS
- Green capsicum – 2
- Mashed potato – 1 ½ cup
- Onion very finely chopped – 1
- Green chilli – 1
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Redchilli pwdr – ¼ tsp
- Chaat pwdr – ¼ pwdr
- Amchur – a generous pinch.
- Finely chopped coriander leaves
- Grated cheese as required [optional ]
- oil – 1 tbsp
- Salt as required
PREPARATION
- Slice the top of the bottom,remove the seeds ,wash and pat dry .Rub little chaat masala or salt inside the capsicum. You can either use the whole capsicum by just slicing the top or cut the capsicum into 2 vertically or horizontally or cut into roundels.
- Make a mixture of mashed potato + onion + coriander leaves +green chilli +garam masala + amchur pwdr + chaat masala.
METHOD
Stuff the capsicum wih the potato mixture.
Heat a pan with 1 or 1 ½ tbsp oil.
Place the capsicum on it.
Cover the pan and cook on medium low flame.
Cook for 7-8 mins . [keep checking inbetween]
Cook till the capsicum becomes soft.
Cook on the open side also for few minutes.
Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves or cheese
NOTES
- Instead of capsicum you can try onion , tomato and coloured bell peppers.
- You can also add grated cheese to the mixture.
- You can temper the potato mixture also.
- You can also bake it – rub oil on the outside of the capsicum and bake for 20 mins – 30 mins on 200 * in preheated oven.
- You can also use paneer stuffing.
