Mixed dal fry
MIXED DAL FRY
INGREDIENTS
- Mixed dal – ½ cup
- Onion chopped – 1
- Tomato chopped – 1
- Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp [optional ]
- Oil + ghee – 1 tbsp
- Jeera + mustard seeds– 1 tsp
- Red chilli pwdr – 1 tsp or as required
- Turmeric – ¼ tsp
- Coriander pwdr – 1 tsp
- Garam masala pwdr – ½ tsp
- Kasoori methi pwdr – ½ tsp [optional ]
- Curry leaves – few
- Salt to taste
- Finely chopped coriander leaves
PREPARATION
Clean ,wash ,rinse and soak the dal for 20 to 30 mins . Pressure cook it with little turmeric and salt till soft .
METHOD
Heat oil + ghee in pan , add jeera + mustard seeds and let it splutter .
Add onion + curry leaves and fry till golden .
Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell leaves .
Add tomato + salt and fry till oil separates .
Add chilli pwdr + turmeric + coriander pwdr + garam masala pwdr + kasoori methi pwdr and fry for few seconds.
Add the cooked dal + required amount of water and mix well . [quantity of water depends on how thick ,u want your gravy ]
Simmer on low flame for 1 or 2 minutes .
Garnish with coriander leaves .
Serve with rice or any Indian breads .
