Instant atta halwa
INSTANT ATTA HALWA
INGREDIENTS
- Wheat flour / gehu ka atta – 1 cup
- Ghee – ½ or ¾ cup
- Sugar – 1 cup or as per taste
- Water – 2 ½ or 3 cup
- Elaichi / cardamom pwdr – a generous pinch [optional ]
- Broken cashews – 10 or as required
PREPARATION
Powder the sugar and keep aside . [ optional – helps in melting fast ]
METHOD
Heat ghee in a nonstick pan ,add the cashew and fry till golden .
Remove and keep aside .
Lower the flame and add the flour and mix well .
Stir and fry till it becomes aromatic and the colour changes lightly .[don’t burn – 3 to 4 mins ]
Add water and mix well , so that there are no lumps.
Stir and cook till it becomes thick .
Add sugar and mix well.
Stir and cook till it becomes glossy [ shiny ] and you see ghee separating.[ don’t overcook ,just 2 – 3 mins on low flame ]
Add the cashew and mix well .
Garnish with dry fruits and serve .
NOTES
- You can use milk instead of water .
- The actual recipe calls for equal quantity of atta ,ghee and sugar .
- For variation y not use jaggery instead of sugar.
- You can have this halwa with poori .
- I have added less ghee ,u can add 1 or 2 tbsp more .
- Adding hot water gives a variation in texture .
- Adjust sugar as per taste.
- Water can be adjusted between 2 to 3 cup .
- Less water for thick halwa and more water for loose halwa.
