Eggless polka dot swiss roll
EGGLESS POLKA DOT SWISS ROLL
INGREDIENTS FOR POLKA DOTS
- Maida – 3 tbsp.
- Condensed milk – 2 tbsp
- Baking pwdr – 3 pinch
- Baking soda – a pinch
- Oil -2 tsp
- Vanilla essence – 2 drops
- Edible food colour gel / liquid
- Soda water to make the batter – as required to make smooth batter
- Flat swiss roll baking tin
- Parchment paper / butter paper
METHOD
Spread the baking sheet on the rectangle tin.
Mix all the above ingredients one by one ,mix well .[soda required would be 1 tbsp or little more]
Make a smooth batter.
Fill it in the piping bag .
Now make any patterns .[I made polka dots ]
Bake it for 1 minute at 180 * preheated oven OR place the baking tin in the freezer for 3 or 4 mins.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE SWISS SHEET
- Maida – ½ cup
- Condensed milk – 100ml
- Baking pwdr – ½ tsp
- Baking soda – ¼ tsp
- Vanilla essence – ½ tsp
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Soda water as required to make smooth batter
- Any filling of your choice – jam , whip cream ,Nutella etc I used whip cream .
METHOD
Mix all ingredients one by one [ except club soda ]
Make a smooth batter by adding 2 or 3 tbsp of club soda.[ add 1 tbsp at a time ]
Batter should be of thick pouring consistency.
Now carefully pour it over the baked polka dots .
Swirl the tin so that the batter spreads all over.
Gently tap the tin once.
Bake it for 10 mins at 180* in preheated oven .
*** don’t overbake.
Once done remove and allow it to cool a bit .
Start gently and tightly rolling the cake along with the butter paper .
Keep it rolled ,till the cake cools gently .
Once done ,unroll it and fill in the filling of your choice .
Spread a thin layer of filling all over ,leaving one inch from all sides .
Again roll it without the parchment paper .
Once it is rolled now roll over the parchment paper and refrigerate for sometimes before serving .
Open the parchment paper and gently slice it .
Swiss roll is ready to serve .
