Mitho lolo
MEETHO LOLO [ LOLI ] / SINDHI SWEET ROTI
INGREDIENTS
- 1 + 1/3 cup flour
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ¼ cup clarified butter / ghee + ½ cup for roasting
- 1/8 cup chopped almonds, cashew nuts, pistachios
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- Warm water to knead
METHOD
Mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
Mix well with clean hands .
Make a tight dough by adding little water at a time.
Make 4 equal portions of the dough.
Roll into small thick roties.
Heat up a thick griddle, once it’s hot, lower the flame.
Now slide in a rolled lolo over it add generous amount of ghee and roast with patience.
One lolo takes at least 10-12 mins.
Roast on low flame to avoid burning .
While roasting turn the lolo carefully or it might break due to ghee.
Roast till it becomes golden and crisp.
Lolos are ready to serve .
NOTES
- If making for lactic mothers you can add 1 tsp cumin also to it.
- Instead of sugar use jaggery pwdr or syrup .
- Actually after roasting we have to dip in ghee , people used to do this in olden days .
