Double beans / fresh lima beans with aloo
DOUBLE BEANS / FRESH LIMA BEANS WITH ALOO
INGREDIENTS
- Fresh double beans – 1 cup
- Potato cubes – 1
- Finely chopped onion – 1
- Finely chopped tomato – 1
- Curry leaves – few
- Finely chopped green chilli – 1
- Jeera – 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Chilli pwdr – 1 tsp
- Coriander pwdr – 2 tsp
- Garam masala pwdr – ½ tsp
- Jaggery or sugar – little [ optional ]
- Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish .
PREPARATION
- Deseed the fresh beans .Keep it in water till use .
- As they are fresh beans ,no need to soak it .We have to cook it directly .
METHOD
Heat oil in a cooker , add jeera and let it splutter .
Add onions = curry leaves + green chilli and fry till translucent .
Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell leaves.
Add tomatoes + salt and fry till oil separates .
Add the masala pwdrs and fry for some time .
Add the fresh beans + potato and mix well .
Add jaggery and mix . [ optional ]
Add 1 or 1½ cup of water .
Pressure cook on medium flame upto first whistle .
Lower the flame to lowest and cook for 5 mins.
Allow the pressure to release on its own .
Open the cooker .
Mix well and garnish with coriander leaves .
NOTES
- Instead of garam masala , I added 1 ½ tsp of goda masala powder .
- Adjust spice as per taste .
