Macaroni sambar
MACARONI SAMBAR
INGREDIENTS
- Macaroni [ any shape ] – 1 cup
- Onion Finely Chopped – 1
- Curry leaves – few
- Tomato Finely Chopped – 1
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Jeera or mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric Powder ¼ tsp
- Sambhar Powder – 1 tbsp
- Coriander Leaves for Garnishing
METHOD:-
Heat the pressure pan with, add the cumin seeds/mustard wait till it crackles.
Add onions + curry leaves saute well.
Add finely chopped tomatoes and fry until the tomatoes turn mushy…
Add the Salt + turmeric powder + sambhar powder .
Fry it nicely .
Add the pasta and mix well .
Pour required water for the pasta to cook.
Pressure cook it for 1 whistle ,lower the flame and simmer for 2 or 3 mins.[don’t over cook else it will become mushy ]
Allow the pressure to release on its own.
If it is watery then simmer on low flame till it thickens a bit .[ it should be saucy ]
Transfer it to serving bowl.
Garnish it with coriander leaves.
Serve Hot.
NOTES
- You can also add few veges like beans /carrot / peas .
- The macaroni puffs up alot bcoz of pressure cooking.
- For tanginess ,you can add lime juice/few drops of tamarind extract .
- We can add 1/4 tsp of ginger garlic paste OR either of it .
