Sujata Mastani was set up in 1968 and began its journey as a small shop in the busy heart of the city. Since the beginning, they have employed the traditional French Pot method to create their range of fruit-flavored ice creams or Mastanis.
There was Sitaphal Mastani, Pineapple Mastani, Vanilla Mastani, Orange and Rose Mastani, Pista Mastani, Chocolate Mastani and Mango Mastani to name a few.
Mango Mastani glass is loaded with fresh mango pulp mixed with chilled milk and topped with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
INGREDIENTS
- Chopped chilled mango pieces – 1 or 1 ½ cup
- Chilled milk –1 or 1 1/2 cup [depending on the thickness you want ]
- Vanilla ice cream – 1 scoop + 1 scop for topping
- Mango ice cream – 1 scoop
- Sugar as required as the fruit and ice cream contain sugar
- For topping – finely chopped almonds , cashew ,pista ,tutti fruity finely chopped mangoes and cherry
*** If you don’t have mango ice cream ,use 2 scoop of vanilla ice cream .
METHOD
Blend mango + chilled milk + sugar well with a blender or in a mixer.
Now add 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream + 1 scoop of mango ice cream and blend it again .
Take few small pieces of mango in a tall glass.
Pour the mango shake upto ¾ of the glass.
Top it with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream .
Spread some dry fruits and serve chilled.
Serve it chilled with a straw and spoon.

NOTES
- I used kesar mangoes they were very sweet so added just 1 tsp sugar.We can use alphonso or any ripe mangoes without fibres.
- If using magoes with fibres ,then blend the mangoes first and strain it to discard the fibres .
- Use chilled milk.Adjust milk quantity as per the thickness you want .
- It is called mastani because we use lot of dry fruits.Be generous while adding dry fruits.
- You can adjust quantity of mango and milk as per your taste and consistency.
- Mine was of medium consistency as milk was more than mango.
- While adding sugar keep in mind the sweetness of fruit and ice cream.
