Methi khakra
METHI KHAKRA

INGREDIENT
- Atta /wheat flour – 1 cup
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Kasoori methi – 1tsp.
METHOD
Mix aata with oil, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and kasoori methi in a big plate and mix well with clean hands.
Add water and knead a hard dough.
Divide the dough into lemon sized balls and roll them into discs as thin as possible using aata for dusting as needed.
Heat a tava and roast each of the discs pressing with a cotton cloth all over, repeat for both sides until crispy and brown
Once done ,store in an air-tight container or serve.
NOTES
I use my roti maker to make khakras .Check the video below .
SADA GHEE KHAKARA
INGREDIENTS
- Wheat flour
- Ghee
- Salt
- Water
METHOD
Knead wheat flour dough as we knead for rotis. Divide the dough into equal parts make small balls. Roll the balls into thin chapatis. Bake on tawa or khakara machine little kachcha pakka. Apply ghee on rotis keep them aside for some time. Again bake them on tawa till red or crispy from both side using cloth press them on tawa .
NOTES
- We can add carrom sides /cumin seeds to dough in sada khakara.
- We can also make mix dal khakara.
- Moong khakara.
- Coriander n mint khakara.
- Curry leaves khakara.
- Using various masala khakara
