Muskmelon granita
GRANITA / ITALIAN ICE / SHORBET – is like Indian gola – crushed / shaved ice drizzled with artificial flavours and sometimes topped with condensed milk .Granita is a form of semi frozen dessert .It is made from fruits crushed with lemon juice + water [ optional ] + sweetening agent like condensed milk /sugar / honey / any sweet syrup . The texture may be grainy or smooth .Instead of natural fruits , we can use fruit juices or fruit puree.
MUSKMELON / CANTALOUPE GRANITA

INGREDIENTS
- Musk melon chopped- 3 or 4 cup [ skinless and deseeded ]
- Lemon juice – 2 tsp
- Condensed milk / sugar – 2 or 3 tbsp or as per taste [ also depends on the sweetness of fruit ]
PREPARATION
Peel the musk melon , scoop off the seeds with a deep spoon and chop it .
METHOD
Take all the 3 ingredients in a mixie jar and grind it into a grainy texture mixture.
Transfer it to freezer box .
Put it in the freezer for few hours till you get icy texture .
Once done ,keep out for few seconds to ease scooping.
Use a spoon to scrape or scoop the granita .
Muskmelon granita is ready to serve .
For Indian touch ,you can sprinkle little chilli pwdr + salt or chaat masala .

NOTES
- You can add sugar instead of condensed milk and while serving you can drizzle condensed milk like golas .
- Condensed milk enriches the flavour .
- If you want icy effect add 1/2 cup water also while grinding .
