NACHOS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup maize flour
  • 1/3 cup maida / all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs /oregano
  • 1/2 chilli flakes [even chilli pwdr will do ]
  • Oil for deep frying
NACHOS RECIPE

METHOD

Mix all the ingredients well in a mixing bowl .

Gradually add water and make a stiff dough.

Keep it aside covered with damp  cloth for 1/2 an hour.

Knead the dough once again and make equal portions.

Dust and roll into thin rotis ( not very thin )

Cut into equal 8 triangles as shown in pics .

Prick  with the help of a fork all over so that it doesn’t puff.

Heat oil in a pan.

Slide in the few nachos at a time .

Deep fry them on medium flame till crisp and golden .

Drain and remove on absorbent paper .

Store in airtight containers.

Serve with any dips/ curd / sauces /chutney/salsa/guacamole.

OVEN BAKING – Brush with little oil and spread in a single layer in the baking tray ,bake on 180 degree for 10-12 minutes and then turn the side and bake again.

While serving you can also sprinkle masala of your choice .I sprinkled my homemade masala while serving which tastes similar to dominos sachet .Try it .Instead of sprinkling we can add 1 tsp of this masala in the dough itself .

MASALA FOR SPRINKLING WHILE SERVING

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary

METHOD

Grind all the ingredients together. Masala is ready.
