DEVILED EGGS
Deviled eggs or devilled eggs, also known as stuffed eggs, Russian eggs, or dressed eggs, are hard-boiled eggs that have been shelled, cut in half, and filled with a paste made from the egg yolks mixed with other ingredients such as mayonnaise and mustard.hey are generally served cold as a side dish , starter or a main course often for holidays or parties. The dish’s origin can be seen in recipes for boiled, seasoned eggs as far back as ancient rome, where they were traditionally served as a first course. The dish is popular in Europe and in North America.
One egg has only 75 calories but 7 grams of high-quality protein, 5 grams of fat, and 1.6 grams of saturated fat, along with iron, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids. The egg is a powerhouse of disease-fighting nutrients like lutein and zeaxanthin.
It is a simple recipe which can be a protein booster in the morning or as a mid meal time snack. But though the boiled eggs seems simple enough to prepare, we can either undercook or overcook the eggs.
Eggs are one of the most versatile foods in the world of gastronomy – add them to your salad and voila, you have an excellent protein rich breakfast / meal ready for you. You can serve it as your side dish in dinner.
One of the best sources of protein and can be made in a jiffy, boiled eggs are popular when it comes to a scrumptious breakfast, lunch, snack or even dinner. Boiled eggs are packed with rich nutrients like proteins, vitamins, minerals along with essential fatty acids, eggs are replete with health-benefiting properties
INGREDIENTS:
- Boiled eggs 4
- Mayonnaise 1 – 2 tbsp
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Mixed herbs
- Chilli flakes
METHOD
Boil the eggs for 12 mins .- How to boil eggs
Cut boiled eggs into halves. Remove the yolk carefully with a spoon without breaking the eggs.
Take the yolks in a bowl and mash with a spoon. Add the mayonnaise and mash again.
Whisk, if required, to get a smooth creamy consistency.
Now add the seasonings as per your taste and whisk again.
Now fill this in a piping bag that has a star nozzle and fill the egg whites.
Garnish with chilli flakes and serve.
***You can also add mustard sauce and very finely chopped onions, capsicum for some crunch.
NOTES
we can always give variation to adjust our taste .- Make it in a chaat form by adding chaat ingredients like sev or any chutney .
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Y not sprinkle with indian spice pwdrs like chilli pwdr / kitchen king masala / chaat masala.
DEVILED EGG INDIAN STYLE
Heat oil in a pan , add onion. Fry till onion turns translucent.
To this add ginger garlic paste, chopped green chilli and fry till raw smell leaves .
Now add tomatoes & cook till it softens. Sprinkle some water if needed.
Add kitchen king masala [ or garam masala ] + chilli pwdr + chaat masala +salt & mix well.
add coriander leaves and give a nice mix .
Add mashed egg yolk to the masala.
Sprinkle little water and mix well . Once everything is well mixed , switch off the stove.
Fill egg white with prepared egg yolk masala.
Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve as a starter.
