STUFFED BANANA FRY RECIPE [ Aritikaya ulli karam in telugu ]

METHOD
Peel and cut bananas into halves, make a slit on both sides of the pieces
Slice four large onions
Grind it into coarse paste
Take a lemon size tamarind, soak it in water and extract pulp
In a big pan take three cups of water, add banana pieces, 2 teaspoon salt, tamarind pulp and a small piece of jaggery
Boil them until the bananas are soft
Drain the water and let them cool
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil on another pan and add onion paste(here ginger garlic can also be added while grinding), keep frying
Add 1/4 teaspoon of haldi and 1 teaspoon of salt and mix well
Let the paste cook well and then add red chilly powder and mix well, For good colour kashmiri red chilly powder can also be added
Fill the masala in the slits of banana with the help of knife, keep little masala aside for adding later.
Bananas can be stored in fridge at this stage and can be fried when needed, heat a pan, add 3 tablespoons of oil and add bananas, turn occasionally with the help of chimta
Cook it by covering for some time, and then add masala paste and mix well.
Cook for some time by covering it, flip it, again cover it,like this masala will get coated well on bananas, when the moisture dried completely, it will be ready
All this frying should be done on slow flame
This is ready to be served
It can be served as side dish, or as it is as starter.
One more point: if some people don’t like tamarind it can be made without tamarind and jaggery, in that case boil only in salted water with haldi
