Cauliflower peas korma
CAULIFLOWER PEAS KORMA
INGREDIENTS
- Cauliflower florets – 2 or 3 cup
- Green peas – ¼ cup
- Onion sliced – 1
- Curry leaves – few
- Tomato chopped – 1
- Chilli pwdr – ½ tsp or as per taste
- Coriander pwdr – 1 tsp
- Turmeric pwdr – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala pwdr – ½ tsp
- Finely chopped coriander leaves to garnish
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 1 or 1 ½ tbsp
- Freshly grated coconut – ¼ cup
- Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
- Cashew – 4 or 5
- Chutney dal /gram dal roasted – 1 tbsp
- Green chilli – 2
- Garlic – 3
PREPARATION
- Make a fine paste of coconut + chutney dal + cashew + garlic + green chilli and keep aside .
- Clean ,cut ,wash and rinse the cauliflower . Soak it in turmeric + salt water for some time , to get rid of worms if any .
- Cook the cauliflower + peas till soft .[ don’t overcook till mushy as we will cook for sometime in the gravy also] We can also pressure cook it .
METHOD
Heat oil in a pan , add fennel seeds and fry .[ don’t burn ]
Add onion + curry leaves and fry till light brown .
Add tomatoes + salt and fry till soft .
Add chilli pwdr + turmeric + garam masala pwdr + coriander pwdr and fry .
Add the coconut paste and stir fry for a min till raw smell leaves .
Add ½ cup water and allow it to boil .
Once the water starts boiling, add cooked cauliflower + peas .
Mix well .
Simmer on low flame till semi thick gravy .
Once done off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves .
