Flax seed laddo

FLAX SEEDS /ALSI   JAGGERY LADOO

Flax seed / alsi laddo

INGREDIENTS

  • Flax seeds – 2 cup
  • White sesame / til – 2 tbsp
  • Grated jaggery – 3/4 or 1 cup or as per taste
  • Cardamom /elaichi – 2
  • Melted ghee – 1 tbsp

PREPARATION

  1. Heat a heavy bottom pan and add the flax seeds.
  2. Dry roast the flax for few minutes on low medium  flame till colour changes slightly . [don’t burn it ] Remove and keep aside .
  3. Add the sesame and roast till it puffs up , remove and keep aside

METHOD

Take the roasted flax seeds + cardamom and grind it into a pwdr .

Now add the jaggery and grind till all ingredients blend well .

Transfer this mixture to a big plate .

Add the roasted sesame and ghee.

Mix well with clean hands .

Take a small bite portion and roll it into mini balls .

Flax seeds are ladoo are ready to serve .

Store in an air tight container .

**** roasting or heating the flax seeds ,reduces some nutrients – heating causes oxidative loss to nutrients .

NOTES

  1. Ghee is added for binding ,if you are not able to roll the balls ,then add 1 more tbsp ghee.
  2. We can powder the flax seeds with roasting also .
  3. We can also add chopped roasted dry fruits / aliv seeds / edible gum [gond ] .
  4. We can also make in combination of oats / rava / coconut /peanut – ratio of 1 : 1
