Fried mozzarella cheese stick
FRIED MOZZARELLA CHEESE STICK
INGREDIENTS
- Mozzarella cheese – 250 gms
- Bread crumbs – ½ cup [ Use fresh bread crumbs – blend fresh bread slices in mixer ]
- Maida /APF – ½ cup
- Corn flour – ¼ cup
- Mixed herbs / oregano – ½ tsp
- Chilli flakes or pepper pwdr as required [optional ]
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- Sauce or any dips to serve
METHOD
Slice the cheese into sticks like French fries .
Freeze it .
Make a thick batter + maida+ cornflour + herbs + chilli flakes + salt by adding ½ cup water .
Take the bread crumbs in a plate .
Dip each stick in the batter .
Then roll it in the bread crumbs so that it is coated well from all sides.
Try pressing them with your palms to make it firm .
*** you can double coat the sticks by repeating the process of dipping in batter and rolling in bread crumbs .
Again refrigerate it for 1 hr or more – you can refrigerate and use it when ever required .
Heat oil in a pan .
Slide in the sticks and fry .[ don’t crowd the pan -fry few at a time ]
Turn and fry till golden and crisp .
Drain and remove on absorbent paper.
Serve hot immediately ,so that you get the goooey texture of melted cheese .
Serve with any sauce or dips .
NOTES
- Instead of maida batter we can use beaten egg .
- Instead of corn flour some use besan .
