MAVA / KHOVA COCONUT LADOO

INGREDIENTS

  • Mava – 1 cup at room temperature
  • Desiccated coconut – 1 ½ cup
  • Sugar pwdr – 5 or 6 tbsp or as per taste
  • Dry fruits – finely chopped nuts as required
  • Milk – 1 or 2 tbsp to knead
  • Finely chopped glazed cherry or tutti fruity to garnish on top

METHOD

Crumble the mava.

Heat a nonstick pan and add mava to it.

Cook on medium low flame .

Stir continuously till the mava melts and the colour changes slightly and it leaves the sides of the pan .[ 3 – 4 mins on low flame ]

Transfer it to a mixing bowl .

When you are able to touch it ,add the dessicated coconut + sugar pwdr + dry fruits and mix well.

Start mixing ,if you feel it is dry ,you can add 1 or 2 tbsp of milk for binding .

Now make ladoos using your greased palms or use any moulds like I did.

Garnish with a small piece of cherry or tuity fruity on top .

Taste good when chilled.

Self life for these ladoos are 7 days if refrigerated .

NOTES

  1. If you want ,you can add food colour to the mava once it melts and make colour ful ladoo.
  2. You can also roll these ladoos in desiccated coconut once it is done.
  3. You can also add any essences like rose or vanilla etc.
  4. You can take equal quantity of mava and coconut and adjust sugar accordingly .
