No onion ,no tomato chole / jhatpat chole
NO ONION ,NO TOMATO CHOLE / JHATPAT CHOLE
INGREDIENTS
- Chole – 250 gms
- Ginger garlic grated or paste – 2 tsp
- Green chili – 2 slit
- Black salt – ½ tsp
- Black pepper – ½ tsp
- chaat masala – 1/2 ts[p
- Turmeric – ½ tsp
- Chana masala – 1 tbsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Amchoor Powder – ½ tsp
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli pwdr – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- Tamarind Chutney – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Ajwain – ½ tsp
- Jeera – ½ tsp
- Anardana – 1 tsp
- asafoetida – a pinch
- Sugar – 1/2 tsp [ optional ]
- Salt to taste
- Kasoori methi – 2 tsp
- Finely chopped coriander leaves to garnish
METHOD
- Soak the chole overnight .
- Pressure cook it with little salt .pressure cook on medium flame upto first whistle ,then lower the flame to lowest and cook for 10 mins.
- Add all the masala pwdrs in ½ cup water and mix well .
NOTES
- We can do the whole process in cooker directly ,instead of cooking the chole first .
- Adjust spice as per taste
- One more quick way is instead of using so many masalas , just use 2 or 3 tbsp of chole masala with red chilli pwdr .
