PINEAPPLE CHUTNEY

PINEAPPLE CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS

  • Pineapple puree – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli pwdr – 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Lemon juice – 2 tsp
  • Grated ginger – ¼ tsp
  • Sugar –  2 or 3 tbsp depending on the sweetness of fruit

METHOD

Remove the skin and thorns of a medium size pineapple.

Blend it into fine puree .We need roughly 1 to 1 ½ cup of puree.

Transfer the puree + sugar + salt to a non stick pan .

Cook on medium flame  for 5 mins

Now add chilli pwdr + sugar + salt .

Stir and cook on medium flame till the mixture becomes transparent .

Off the flame and transfer to serving bowl .

Pineapple chutney is ready to serve as a dip /or sauce for any starters .

You can store in air tight containers.

NOTES

  1. If you want to get the crunch of pineapple ,blend the pineapple into coarse mixture instead of smooth .
  2. For spiciness instead of red chilli pwdr ,you can try pepper pwdr .
  3. You can add chilli flakes towards the end ,to give a nice look to the chutney .
  4. You can try the same with any tangy sweet fruits like orange ,strawberry etc
