Quick paneer makhani gravy without cashew

QUICK PANEER MAKHANI GRAVY WITHOUT CASHEW

INGREDIENTS

  • Paneer cubes – 250 or 300 gms
  • Onion chopped – 1
  • Tomato – 2 big pureed [ not sour ]
  • Tomato ketchup – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 3/4 tsp
  • Oil + butter – 2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Red chilli pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilli pwdr – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Kitchen king masala – 1 tsp
  • Coriander pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Jeera pwdr – ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Besan – 1 tbsp
  • Kasoori methi crushed – 1 tbsp
  • Fresh cream – 2 tbsp

PREPARATION

  1. First dry roast the besan pwdr on low flame till aromatic .You have to stir and roast well ,but the colour should not change .
  2. Make a puree of onion + tomato + gg paste.

METHOD

Heat oil + butter .

Add onions and fry till translucent.

Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell leaves .

Add tomato puree + salt  and fry ,till oil separates .

**We add salt with tomatoes wo speed up the softening of tomatoes.

Add all the spice pwdrs and fry for some times .

Now add the besan and stir fry for a min .

Add 1 or 11/2 cup water and mix well .

Adjust water accordingly .

Check the taste ,if anything required ,do add .

Allow it to boil .

Once it boils add the paneer cubes and mix gently .

Simmer on low flame for a min .

Add fresh cream + kasoori methi ,give a mix and off the flame.

Serve hot with any Indian bread or variety of rice .

NOTES

Kashmiri red chilli pwdr gives a nice colour to the gravy .

Instead of oil , we can use ghee.

Finally we can add sauted capsicum cubes in the end.

We can garnish with grated paneer .
