PANEER TOMATO GRAVY / TAMATAR PANEER CURRY

Yes. It is good to eat paneer every day, provided the intake is moderate. However, people who do a lot of weight training at the gym need a lot of energy and the right amount of protein.

BENEFITS OF TOMATOES 

Tomato is a good source of potassium and is linked with lowering the elevated blood pressure in the body. Thus, preventing cardiovascular diseases. Also, these contain folate, vitamin B, E and other essential nutrients which are vital for the proper functioning of our heart.

Tomatoes are a good source of several vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, potassium, vitamin K, and folate.

Paneer tomato gravy

INGREDIENTS

  • Paneer cubes – 250 grms
  • Tomato – 3 medium [ not sour ]
  • Cashew – 5
  • Oil + butter – 2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 11/2 tsp
  • Red chilli pwdr – 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Kitchen king masala – 1 tsp or garam masala pwdr – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric – ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar – 1 or 11/2  tsp
  • Tomato ketchup – 1 tbsp
  • Kasoori methi crushed – 2 tsp

PREPARATION

  1. Chop the tomatoes into small cubes .
  2. Take tomatoes + 2 or 2 ½ cup water + cashews and cook the tomatoes on medium flame for 10 mins.
  3. Off the flame and let it cool .
  4. Once cooled blend into fine puree using mixer or blender .
  5. Take chilli pwdr + kitchen king masala + turmeric + coriander pwdr + kasoori methi in a bowl . Add 1/4 cup water and mix well .

METHOD

Heat oil + butter in a pan .

Add ginger garlic paste and stir fry till raw smell leaves .

Add masala paste and stir fry till oil releases

Add the puree and mix well .

Let it come to a boil .

Add ketchup + sugar + salt and mix well .

Again cook for 2 or 3 mins on medium flame .

Add paneer cubes and give a gentle mix.

Simmer for a min finally add 1/4 tsp kasoori methi , mix and off the flame .

The softer the paneer, the more it melts in your mouth.

NOTES

  1. We can fry and add the paneer .
  2. We can also add green peas .
  3. Same gravy can be tried for paneer aloo matar.
  4. Same recipe we can add 3 or 4 tbsp  fresh cream .
