Roasted tomato chutney / bhune tamatar ki chutney
ROASTED TOMATO CHUTNEY / BHUNE TAMATAR KI CHUTNEY / CHOKA

INGREDIENTS
- Green or red tomatoes – 4
- Coriander leaves – 1 cup
- Green chilli – 2 or 3 or as per taste
- Salt to taste
PREPARATION
Wash the tomato clean and pat dry.
Switch on the flame and place the tomato on stove top on open flame directly.
Keep turning the sides of tomato every 1 min. Takes around 3 to 4 mins .
Let it cool for a few minutes.
When it is cool enough to handle with hands, start peeling off the burnt tomato skin.
Chop off the tomato roughly .
METHOD
First take the green chilli + coriander leaves + salt in a mixie jar and grind.
Now add the tomatoes and blend it roughly into coarse paste . [not smooth ]
Transfer to a bowl .
Chutney is ready to be served as side dish .
NOTES
- We can also add garlic .Also we can roast the garlic .
- Instead of blending ,you can just mash it .
- To give it a salsa touch ,you can add finely chopped onions in the chutney while serving .
- Some also add oil to the chutney .
