- Oil or ghee as required
- Finely chopped or grated cabbage – 1 cup
- Finely chopped onion – 1 cup
PREPARATION
Clean ,wash rinse and soak the dal and rice + methi seeds for min 2 to 5 hrs or even overnight .
Take a mixie jar with red chili + grated coconut + coriander seeds + cumin seeds + jaggery + tamarind turmeric + and grind.
Now add the soaked rice and grind to a smooth batter.
Transfer to a vessel and add salt and mix well .
Add in enough water to prepare thin dosa batter .{ the batter should not be thick ]
While making the dosas add in the cabbage and onion .
METHOD
Heat up a frying pan, once it’s hot, add a laddle full of batter onto the pan. Spread it out
Fry them until they change colour completely on one side to golden .
Drizzle oil all over the dosa, flip it and cook it on medium flame until it cooks completely on the other side.
Once again wait till the colour changes .
This dosa takes time to cook .
If the dosas are thick it will take more time .
Remove the dosas off the frying pan, serve them hot .
As they are spicy ,it goes with any bland side dish .
I served with less spicy coconut chutney .
I made both thin as well as thick dosa.
