Yellow moong dal and palak dosa
YELLOW MOONG DAL AND PALAK DOSA
INGREDIENTS
- Yellow split moong dal – 1 cup
- Raw rice – 2 tbsp
- Palak chopped – 2 cup
- Green chilli – 2
- Salt to taste
- Oil or ghee as required
PREPARATION
Clean wash ,rinse and soak the dal and rice for 2 to 3 hrs.
Take the palak + green chilli + ¼ cup water in a mixie jar and grind to a fine puree.
Now drain the water from the soaked dal .
Add the soaked dal and again grind it to fine paste.
Add water if required .
The batter should be smooth and of pouring consistency just like dosa batter .
Transfer to a bowl ,add salt and mix well .
We can use the batter directly without fermentation .
I like to ferment the batter.
I kept it aside for 2 hrs. [you can keep for more time ]
***Fermented foods are highly nutritious and easier to digest ,due to the beneficial micro-organisms that are involved in the fermentation process, adding live enzymes, B vitamins and protein to the food.
METHOD
Heat a pan .
Wipe it with a oily cloth .
Pour the batter on the hot pan .
*The pan has to be hot while pouring .
Gently spread it .
Lower the flame to medium and cook .
Drizzle some oil or ghee all over .
Flip and cook on the other side also .
Serve hot with spicy coconut chutney .
NOTES
You can add palak somewhere between 1 to 2 cup
Also you can add a small piece of ginger.
