CHICKEN SOUP

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken with bones  –  250 gms
  • Bay leaf – 1
  • Clove – 1
  • Cardamom – 1
  • Pepper corn – ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon – a small piece
  • Turmeric –  1/4 tsp
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Onions chopped – 1 small
  • Carrot chopped – ½ cup
  • Cabbage chopped – ½ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander chopped – 1 cup
  • Lemon juice + chaat masala + pepper pwdr for serving

PREPARATION

  1. Chop the veges roughly.
  2. Clean ,wash ,rinse and chop the chicken roughly.[ big pieces ]

METHOD

Take bayleaf + cinnamon+ clove + cardamom + garlic + onion + cabbage + carrot + coriander leaves + chicken  + salt  and  4  cups of water in a pressure cooker. [ water as required ]

Cook upto 5 or 6  whistles.

Drain out the chicken pieces and keep it separately and remove the flesh from it and shred it with hands .Discard the leftover bones .

Try mashing the veges to extract the juice from it .

Once it is done , strain the soup .

Take soup  in another pan, add shredded chicken pieces and simmer on low flame for 2 minutes .

Adjust salt and pepper.

Garnish with coriander leaves .

Serve hot by drizzling few drops of lemon juice + chaat masala + pepper pwdr as per taste.

NOTES

  1. In chicken shops you get chicken bones specially for preparing stock .50 rs kg .
  2. Instead of veges you can just add 1 small pkt of magic cube. It also enhances the flavour of the soup .
  3. If u want to blend ,then discard the bones and garam masala .
