DHABA STYLE ALOO MATAR

Aloo matar

INGREDIENTS

  • Fresh green peas – 1 cup
  • Potato – 2 chopped into big cubes
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Jeera – 1 tsp
  • Onion finely chopped – 1
  • Green chilli – 1 slit
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato puree – made from 2 big tomato
  • Chilli pwdr – 1 tsp or as taste
  • Coriander pwdr – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric pwdr – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala pwdr / kitchen king masala – 3/4 tsp
  • Sugar – 1/2 or 1 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves to garnish
  • Salt to taste

METHOD

Heat oil in a cooker , add jeera and let it splutter .

Add onion + green chilli and fry till golden brown .

Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell leaves .

Lower the flame and add chilli pwdr + turmeric + garam masala + coriander pwdr and fry .

Add tomato puree + salt and fry till oil separates.

Add sugar + ketchup and mix well.

Add green peas + potato and mix well.

Fry for a minute.

Add 2 cup of water and mix well.

Pressure cook on medium flame upto 2 whistles.

Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and mix gently.

Garnish with coriander leaves .

Serve with naan/paratha/roti /rice /pav etc.

NOTES

  1. You can add kasoori methi in the end.
  2. Also you can add fresh cream .
