Easy chole masala
EASY CHOLE MASALA
INGREDIENTS
- White chick peas – 200 gms
- Onion – 1 big
- Tomato – 2 big
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
- Few whole garam masala
- Everest chole or chana masala – 2 tsp
- Red chilli pwdr – 1 tsp
- Turmeric pwdr – 1/4 tsp
- Coriander pwder – 1tsp
- Kasoori methi – 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
PREPARATION
- Clean ,wash ,rinse and soak the chana for over night .
- Puree the onion and tomato separately.
METHOD
Heat oil in a cooker and add whole garam masala and fry .[don’t burn it ]
Add the onion and fry on medium flame till brown .
Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell leaves .
Add tomato puree + salt and fry till oil separates .
*** very important to fry the onion and tomato on slow process till masala colour changes.
Add chana masala+ turmeric + red chilli pwdr +coriander pwdr and fry .
Add the soaked chana and mix well .
Add 1 cup water – water level just little above the chana.
Pressure cook on medium high for the first whistle .
After the first whistle lower the flame to medium lowest and cook for 10 mins .
*** this is how I cook chole or mutton .
You can cook like regular recipes upto 4 or 5 whistles.
Once done ,open the cooker and mix well.
Finally garnish with of kasoori methi .
Serve hot with any Indian bread or rice variety .
