Mac n cheese grilled sandwich
MAC [Macaroni ] AND CHEESE GRILLED SANDWICH
INGREDIENTS
- Bread slices as required
- Macaroni – 1 cup
- Maida / APF – 2 tbsp
- Butter + Oil – 2 tbsp
- Milk – 2 cup
- Cheese cubes – 3 or 4
- Crushed pepper – 1/8 tsp
- Mixed herbs / oregano – 1/4 cup
- Chilli flakes – 1/4 tsp
- Colourful capsicum finely chopped – 1/4 cup
- Boiled corn – 1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
PREPARATION.
Cook macaroni in boiling water with salt . Cook for 7 – 9 minutes till done . Drain the water and keep aside. Don’t overcook it. It should be firm and not mushy. [ follow the instruction given on the packet]
METHOD FOR MAKING MAC N CHEESE
Heat oil + butter in a pan ,add the flour and stir fry .
Now add the milk and mix well.
Stir and cook till it thickens .
Add grated cheese and mix well .
Add salt + chilli flakes + pepper pwdr + mixed herbs and mix well .
Add the cooked macaroni and mixed well .
Mac and cheese is ready to be stuffedin the sandwich .
Cool it and use for stuffing .
On cooling it thickens
METHOD FOR MAKING SANDWICH
Take the bread slices and apply butter on one side .
Spread a layer of mac and cheese on the unbuttered side .
Close it with another bread slice .
Butter applied sides should be outside .
Heat a non-stick sandwich griller. Place the sandwiches on it, cover and grill it .
Grill till grilled marks appear on both sides and the cheese melts.
Cut in triangles / rectangles and serve hot plain or with ketchup .
NOTES
- Adjust seasoning as per taste .
- Use olive ,you can just use butter but adding little oil with butter , avoids butter from burning .
- Veges are optional .
- Instead of veges you can add boiled chicken pieces.
