PANEER IN FRIED ONION CREAMY GRAVY 

Paneer in fried onion creamy gravy

INGREDIENTS

  • Paneer – 250 or 300 gm
  • Oil + butter – 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala – ½  tsp OR Kitchen king masala – 1 tsp
  • Fried onion – 1
  • Poppy seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cashew – 8
  • Coriander pwdr – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric – a pinch
  • Sugar – 1 tsp
  • Chilli pwdr – 1 ½ tsp or as per taste
  • Kasuri methi crushed – 2 tsp
  • Tomato – 1 small
  • Curd fresh – 2 or 3 tbsp [ not sour ]
  • Fresh cream – 3 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1  tsp
  • Orange food colour – a pinch OR few kesar strands soaked in 1 tbsp water [ OPTIONAL ]

METHOD

Take all the ingredients in mixie jar  [ except for oil + kasuri methi + paneer ] and grind into fine paste by adding ¼ cup water .

Heat oil in a pan .

Add the paste and stir fry for 5 mins .[ keep stirring ]

Add ½ cup hot water / milk and give a nice mix.

Adjust salt if needed .

Again cook on medium flame by stirring .

Once the gravy boils add the paneer cubes + kasuri methi and give a mix .

Simmer on lowest flame for a min and off the flame.

Serve with onion rings and lemon  with any Indian bread or rice varieties.
