INGREDIENTS

  • Raw mango – ¼ cup
  • Onion – 1 small
  • Coriander leaves – 1 cup
  • Mint leaves – ¼ cup
  • Green chilli – 3 or 4
  • Garlic – 1
  • Ginger – tiny piece
  • Jaggery – 1 or 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

METHOD

Clean wash coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies and peel mangoes + chop it into cubes .

Take all ingredients in a mixie jar .

Grind to a fine paste by adding 2 tbsp water .

Never add too much water while making chutney .

Serve as a side dish for bhajiyas and fried items .

It goes well with pakora, Samosa, Kachori, Dhokla, etc.

Even goes as sandwich chutney .

Try it with simple dal rice meals, khichdi or stuffed parathas.

NOTES 

  1. For a Jain version, skip adding ginger and garlic.
  2. You can also add amla to this chutney.
  3. We can add 1/2 tsp roasted  jeera to it .
  4. Jaggery balance the tanginess and spiciness .
  5. Refrigerate the chutney in clean airtight jar for easily up to a week or freeze it in portions for good 1-2 months.
