Easy corn pulao
EASY CORN PULAO
Corn contains valuable B vitamins, which are important to your overall health. Corn also provides our bodies with essential minerals such as zinc, magnesium, copper, iron and manganese. Corn is a good source of the antioxidants carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin, which promote eye health.
Corn is rich in fiber and plant compounds that may aid digestive and eye health. Yet, it’s high in starch, can spike blood sugar and may prevent weight loss when consumed in excess. The safety of genetically modified corn may also be a concern. Still, in moderation, corn can be part of a healthy diet.
Easy , simple and tasty rice based pulao recipe filled with juicy sweet corn kernels , it is an ideal lunch box recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- Cooked rice – 2 cup
- Boiled corn – 1 cup
- Oil / ghee – 1 tbsp
- Few whole garam masala – 1 bay leaf + 6 black pepper + small piece of cinnamon + 1 clove + 1 cardamom + ½ tsp jeera + 1 star anise .
- Finely chopped onion – 1 small
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Green chilli paste – ½ tsp
- Sugar – ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Soya sauce – 11/2 or 2 tsp
- Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish

METHOD
Heat oil / ghee in a pan .
Add the whole garam masala and let it splutter .
Add the onion and stir fry till translucent.
Add ginger garlic paste + green chilli paste and stir fry for few seconds.
Add sugar + salt and give a mix .
Add the corn , mix well and stir fry for few seconds..
Add soya sauce and give a nice mix.
Add the rice , stir and cook till all combine well.
Cover and cook on low flame for a minute and off the flame .
Finally garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with any side dish .
