Raw mango chutney
RAW MANGO COCONUT CHUTNEY
INGREDIENTS
- Raw mango pieces – ½ cup
- Freshly grated coconut – 1 cup
- Garlic – 3 cloves [optional]
- Green chilly – 3 or as per taste
- Salt to taste
METHOD
Peel the skin of the mango and chop the flesh part. Discard the seeds.
Grind all the ingredients to a fine or coarse paste.
You can use this chutney directly or temper it .
FOR TEMPERING
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds + urad dal – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Asafoetida – a pinch
METHOD – Heat the oil add the other ingredients one by one – mustard seeds + urad dal + curry leaves + asafoetida.
Pour this tempering over the chutney
NOTES
- Don’t add water while grinding. If required may be few tsps..
- For variation instead of green chilli you can add red chilli.
- While grinding you can add few curry leaves or coriander leaves.
- Tastes more better when grinded on a stone pestle.
