PEPPER PRAWNS

Pepper prawn

INGREDIENTS

  • Prawns medium size – 15 shelled and deveined (med size)
  • Onion sliced – 1
  • Green chilli slit – 1
  • Oil /olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Turmeric – little
  • Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp
  • Freshly ground pepper pwdr – 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Soya sauce – few drops [optional ]
  • Lemon juice – few drops
  • Salt to taste

PREPARATION

  1. Clean ,wash and rinse the prawns.
  2. Marinate the cleaned prawns with little salt + ginger garlic paste + turmeric and refrigerate for sometime.

METHOD

Heat oil in a pan .

Add onion + curry leaves + green chilli and fry till brown .

Add the prawns , stir  and mix well  .

The prawns will curl up and sweat .

Fry on medium high flame by stirring.

Stir fry for 8 to 10 mins .

Prawns cook fast , don’t overcook else it will become rubbery .

Adjust salt .

Finally add the freshly ground pepper pwdr and mix well till the prawns get coated well.

Finally add few drops of soya sauce ,mix well and off the flame.

*** I have added soya sauce to give dark colour to the prawns.

You can garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves or spring onion greens.

While serving ,you can drizzle few drops of lemon juice.

NOTES

  1. Cooking time depends on size of prawns.
  2. After frying the onions ,we can also add sliced capsicum.
  3. Try the same recipe with small chicken pieces [leg portion ] or boiled potato or paneer or mushroom .
