Lehsuni gavar ki sabji
LEHSUNI GAVAR
INGREDIENTS
- Tender gavar /cluster beans – 250 or 300 gms
- Jeera – 1 tsp
- Crushed or grated garlic – 2 tbsp [more or less as per taste ]
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Finely chopped /crushed green chilli – 2 or 3 or as per taste
- Asafoetida – a generous pinch
- Turmeric pwdr – 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
PREPARATION
- Clean, wash and rinse the beans .
- String the beans and break /cut it into small .Each gavar into 2 or 3 pieces depending on size. If they are amall ,then add it whole.
METHOD
Heat oil in a cooker ,add jeera and let it splutter.
Add the crushed garlic + green chilli and fry .[ colour should not change much – dont burn the garlic ]
Add asafoetida + turmeric .
Add the gavar + salt and mix well .
Stir and cook for a min .
Add 2 tbsp water and pressure cook upto 1 whistle on medium .
Allow the pressure to release,open and mix well.
If excess water ,cook till water evaporates .
Off the flame ad drizzle few drops of lemon juice or add little amchur pwdr [optional ]
Serve as side dish for rice or chapati .
