Bread hara bhara kebab
BREAD HARA BHARA KEBAB / INSTANT HARA BHARA KEBAB
Hara bhara kabab are pan-fried spiced patties made with a mix of spinach, green peas and potatoes. It is a popular Indian appetizer that is very famous among North Indian restaurants.
It is a tikki that is made with the combination of blanched spinach, peas, green coriander, green chilli, and ginger.
Here in this recipe we are using bread instead of potatoes .The recipe is easy to make .
INGREDIENTS
- 15 Bread slices.
- 1 tbsp ginger + garlic + green chilli paste.
- 2 or 3 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves.
- 1 cup thick palak puree
- 1 tbsp cornflour for binding.
- ¼ tsp amchur pwdr
- 1 tsp chaat masala.
- 1 tsp kasoori methi pwdr. [must ]
- salt to taste.
- Oil either for deep fry or shallow fry.
- Cashews as required
PREPARATION
Pluck the leaves and tender stalk .Soak in water for sometime so that soil or dirt loosens .Wash ,rinse in several waters .Drain the excess water by keeping in a colander .Boil it for 4 mins . Drain and allow it to cool and blend it . Don’t make it watery .
METHOD
Take each slice of bread one by one and dip one side of it in the puree and keep it aside in another plate.
Now smash the bread with hand and knead it like a dough.
While kneading add ginger + garlic + green chilli paste, coriander leaves, cornflour, chaat masala , kasoori methi pwdr and salt .
Knead it into a soft and smooth dough .[ not very thick ]
If the dough is hard ,adjust by adding more puree or drizzle few drops of water .
Divide the dough into small balls of equal size .[ small lemon size ]
Roll it into a smooth ball and give shape of tikkis .
Top each tikki with a sliced cashew .
Keep it in fridge for sometime or continue .
Palak cheese balls
Heat oil in a deep pan .
Slide in the tikkis and fry it from all sides .
Remove on absorbent paper and serve it as starters / snacks with ketchup or chutney.
NOTES
- You can deep fry or shallow fry till they turn light golden brown in colour.
- Make small tikkis .
- With 10 breads you can make 20 mini balls.
- You can make the balls and keep it ready in fridge and fry it when ever required.
- Serve hot with sauce for breakfast, starters ,tiffin box ,snacks etc.
- Kids loved it.
- Same recipes you can use mashed potatoes instead of bread .
