HOMEMADE INSTANT ROOHAFZA SYRUP

Instant roohafza syrup recipe

Rooh Afza is a concentrated squash. Well it is not just rose syrup , many other ingredients are added to it . Traditionally rooh afza was made with herbal extracts, fruits and aromatic spices

 Here in this recipe we are making instant rooh afza .

It is sold commercially as a syrup to flavour sherbets, cold milk drinks, ices, and cold desserts such as the popular falooda. The name Rooh Afza is sometimes translated as “refresher of the soul”. It is said that this name was made up by the original formulator of the drink, with possible cultural influences.

Rooh afza is a crimson colored syrup mostly popular in Pakistan India and Bangladesh. Usually, it is mixed in water, milk, ice cream or custards. It can also be used in a wide variety of dessert recipes. 

INGREDIENTS

  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Pineapple essence – 1 tsp
  • Rose essence – 1 tsp
  • Orange essence – 1 tsp
  • Tomato red colour – 1 tsp or as required
  • Citric acid – a pinch for preservative

METHOD

Take sugar + water in a pan .

Stir well to combine and cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved completely.

Stir and cook till the syrup becomes sticky .

Off the flame immediately .

Allow to cool.

Now add the pineapple essence +  rose essence + food colour and mix well .

  • If you want to store and use then add a pinch of citric acid and give a nice mix .
