ORANGE SALAD

This easy-to-make salad recipe is filled with the goodness of oranges.

Oranges are among the world’s most popular fruits, as they’re both tasty and nutritious. They are a good source of vitamin C, as well as several other vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. For this reason, they may lower your risk of heart disease and kidney stones.

INGREDIENTS

  • Orange  – 3 peeled
  • Finely chopped  mint leaves – 1 tbsp
  • Very finely minced garlic – 1/2 tsp [optional ]
  • Olive oil – 1 1 /2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 or 1 1/2 tsp or as per taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper pwdr – 1/4 tsp
  • Chaat masala – 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli flakes /red chilli pwdr  – 1/4 tsp
  • Honey – 1 tsp

PREPARATION

Peel the oranges and remove the white thread .Either use it whole or slice into 2 . [don’t use over ripe mangoes ,the flesh has to be firm ] Dont chop the oranges small else it will become mushy .

METHOD

In a mixing bowl take olive oil + lemon juice + salt + pepper pwdr + chilli flakes + chaat masala + honey + mint leaves and mix well .

Dressing for the salad is ready .

Now add the oranges  and toss well ,Don’t mix with hands or apply any pressure while mixing else the mangoes will get mushy .

Cover and refrigerate the salad for some time .

Orange salad is ready to serve .

Sprinkle little chili pwdr while serving .

NOTES

  1. Adjust spices /ingredients according to taste.
  2. We can also add onion and capsicum.
  3. You can add panner or cheese cubes.
  4. For crunchy texture add roasted peanuts /dry fruits /seeds  .
