Bhungra Bateta is a street food from Saurashtra .Bhungra are fried pipes made from rice flour, just like fryums
Bhungara Bateta is a popular spicy and zesty street food of Gujarat. A unique dish of spicy baby potatoes along with pipe fryums to treat your taste buds.
It is more popular and is originally from the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. Generally, the taste of garlic is more prominent in the potatoes.
Bhungara Bateta is a delightful and spicy Gujarati recipe. It is one of the street foods that is flavourful and is also easy to make and it can be enjoyed by all your family members. It is served with long yellow fryums and the combination is simply made in heaven. It is an ideal dish for breakfast, evening snacks, or during any time of the day.
INGREDIENTS
- Cooked baby potato – 10 nos
- Lemon juice – few drops
- Kathiyawadi spicy chutney as needed – 1 tbsp RECIPE – KATHIYAWADI GARLIC CHUTNEY
- Red chilli pwdr – 1 tsp
- Finely chopped coriander – 2 tbsp
- Salt
- finely chopped onion / masala peanuts for serving [ optional ]
- Pipe fryums as needed
METHOD
Deep fry the fryums and store in air tight container .
Pressure cook the potatoes till soft . Peel it .
Take 1 cooked potato , mash it well and mix with ½ cup water and keep aside .
Take the peeled potatoes in a bowl add red chilli pwdr + salt and mix well.
Add the spicy chutney and mix well .
Add the mashed aloo mixture + lemon juice over this and toss it well.
Cover an keep aside for 30 mins or more .
Again mix it well.
HOW TO SERVE
Take a potato and chop into small cubes.
Pour the chutney marinade over it .
Sprinkle onion and peanuts + coriander leaves .
Take a fryum , prick a piece of aloo piece, dip in the sauce and take a bite .
