Dry bread crumbs recipe
DRY BREAD CRUMBS
Bread crumbs or breadcrumbs consist of crumbled bread of various dryness, sometimes with seasonings added, used for breading or crumbing foods, topping casseroles, stuffing poultry, thickening stews,making crispy covering of cutlets.
METHOD
Keep collecting the corners of the bread or left over bread in the fridge. Once enough is collected make small small pieces of it and dry it in the sun. Now blend it in a mixer and store it.
USING MICROWAVE – Preheat the oven to 250 F/120 C. Spread the chunks of bread out in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until the pieces are crunchy dry and just starting to turn golden (but not burned).
Bread crumbs are dried, so they last longer than regular bread. If kept away from moisture, which leads to mold, they can last up to 6 months. Keep in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
NOTES
- U can also roast fresh bread and blend it.
- Don’t use stale bread.
- For instant bread crumbs u can blend toast (rusk) or butter (the one which we have with tea).
