CHOCOLATE SYRUP / CHOCOLATE SAUCE /HERSHEYS CHOCOLATE SAUCE RECIPE

Chocolate syrup is a sweet, chocolate – flavored condiment . It is often used as a topping or dessert sauce for various desserts, such as ice cream, or mixed with milk to make chocolate milk or blended with milk and ice cream to make a chocolate milkshake

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup Water / milk
  • ¼ cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Corn Starch
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • ½ tsp butter

METHOD

Take all the ingredients in a sauce pan except milk / water and butter  .

Slowly add in milk / water  and mix well so there is no lumps formed.

Now keep on medium ,  stir and cook till it reaches a boiling point, simmer the flame and let it simmer for 5 mins.

Add butter towards the end.

The sauce should be of thin pouring consistency,  it thickens on cooling .

Chocolate sauce / syrup ready to use as required.

Let the sauce cool down.

Fill in a bottle and keep in the refrigerator.

You can use it in room temperature for 3 days after that refrigerate it stays good for 10 days.

NOTES

  1. This sauce can be stored in fridge in a air tight bottle for 3 to 4 days.
  2. If you want to store this for a long time. Instead of milk add in water. You can store the water made sauce for upto a month in fridge.
  3. You can add a tiny pinch of citric acid as a preservative .
  4. Adjust sugar as per your taste.
  5. Add water slowly and gradually to avoid lump formation.
  6. Keep stirring while cooking otherwise it may get burnt from the bottom.
  7. Butter is added just to give shine to it ,if you don’t want then avoid it.
  8. If the sauce becomes too thick after cooling then adjust consistency by adding 1 or 2 tsp hot water.
