Crispy bombay duck / bombil fry recipe
CRISPY BOMBAY DUCK FRY / BOMBIL FRY
INGREDIENTS
- Bombay duck fish – 5
- Chilli pwdr – 1 tsp or as per taste
- Turmeric pwdr – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala – ¼ tsp
- Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp
- besan- 1 tsp for binding
- Vinegar /lemon juice – ½ tbsp.
- Rava – ¼ cup
- Rice flour – ¼ cup
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for deep fry or shallow fry.
PREPARATION
- Clean and wash the fish thoroughly by discarding unwanted parts. You can also remove the bone by slitting in the centre. Squeeze out the excess water by pressing with hands
- Now spread the cleaned fish on a kitchen towl ,cover it and press it to remove excess water .
- Keep a heavy object on it for sometime.
- Make a marinade of besan + chilli pwdr + turmeric pwdr + garam masala pwdr + ginger garlic paste + vinegar + salt .
- Coat the fish with the marinade and keep aside for some time inside the fridge .
METHOD
Make a mixture of rice flour + rava and spread it on the plate.
Heat oil for deep fry or shallow fry .
Take each fish and coat it well on all sides with the rava mixture.
Either deep fry or shallow fry it till crispy.
Serve hot by drizzling lemon juice.
NOTES
- You can avoid garam masala and ginger garlic paste,but adding garam masala pwdr removes the fishy smell.
- The oil should be medium hot not very high or low.
- It has to be served hot, So fry it when you are ready to eat.
- Deep fried taste awsome and also they are very crispy .
