Eggless banana chocolate cake
EGGLESS BANANA CHOCOLATE CAKE
INGREDIENTS
- Maida – 1 ¼ cup
- Over ripe banana – 2 long
- Cocoa pwdr – ¼ cup
- Sugar – ¾ cup or as per taste
- Oil – 1/3 cup [ odourless and colourless , I used sundrop ]
- Water – 1/3 cup [ can add 1 tbsp extra if batter is thick ]
- Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
- Vinegar or lemon juice – 1 tsp
- Baking soda – 1 tsp
PREPARATION
- Keep all things ready before you start.
- Powder the sugar.
- Blend the banana in the mixer into a puree or you can mash it with a fork also.
- Sift the maida + cocoa pwdr + sugar + baking soda together.
- Grease and dust the baking tin.
- Preheat the at 180 * [ convection mode ] or can be baked in cooker or pan or kadai also.
METHOD
Take the banana puree in a mixing bowl .
Add oil + water + vanilla essence + vinegar and mix well.
Now slowly add the sifted flour and start mixing.
Mix well till no lumps remain. [ if you feel the batter is very thick, add 1 tbsp of water and mix well]
Pour the batter in the baking tin .
Tap it gently.
Bake it for 35 minutes at 180 * .
Bake till the cake is done.
Insert a tooth pick in the centre and check, if it come clean it means the cake is fully baked or bake it for more time .
Allow the cake to cool .
Run a knife around the edges to loosen the cake .
Remove it on a plate .
Cake is ready to serve .
Either have it plain or decorate it with whipped cream.
NOTES
- The banana has to be little big ,if small use 3 ,we should roughly get around 1 cup of puree .
- Instead of maida, you can try wheat flour.
- Baking time also depends on the tin size, wider the tin lesser the time of baking .As my tin was big ,the cake was baked in 30 mins.

- Instead of chocolate cake, you can use the same recipe for plain banana cake , just replace ¼ of cocoa pwdr with ¼ cup ofmilk pwdr .
- Oil should not have any smell or colour.
- Once you puree the banana ,start immediately as the puree will become black. It is ok if it becomes black but be quick.
- If the batter is very thick ,you can add little milk .
