HOMEMADE FROOTI RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
- Ripe alphonso mango – 2
- Sugar – 1/3 or ½ cup depending upon the sweetness of the fruit
- ***Water – 6 cups if boiling in open pan And 5 cups if using pressure cook method
METHOD
Peel the mango and chop it into small pieces.
Take the water in pan and allow it to boil.
Once it starts boiling add the mango.
Cook on low flame for 10 minutes.
Add the sugar and again cook for 5 minutes till the mangoes become soft and mushy.
Allow it to cool and blend it.
Strain it through a strainer.
Check the consistency and sugar.
Refrigerate it for few hours till chilled and serve .
**** You can make the same by pressure cook method . Pressure cook the 2 mangoes + 1/2 cup sugar + 5 cup water upto 2 to 3 whistles
VARIATION
Blend the 2 cup mango juice with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream for a yummilicious mango punch.
The same juice can be made to use mango popsicle and mango granita /Gola .
For mango granita /gola ,pour the juice in freezer safe box .Freeze it for 3 hrs ,remove and scrapewith a fork .again freeze for 2 hrs,remove and scrape with a fork and enjoi mango gola .
NOTES
- You can take a combo of 1 raw [kairi] and 2 ripe mango.
- You can pressure cook the mango with sugar upto 2 whistles .But here you have to take less water .
- You can adjust water and sugar even after it is done.
- It can be stored for 2 – 3 days in fridge.
- Will taste same like frooti / maaza / slice
- Use mangoes without fibres like alphonso / kesar.
- If your mango doesn’t have much mango flavour ,then use little mango essence.
