MAHARASHTRIAN AMBOLI / GHAVAN RECIPE / GHAVANE/Instant rice flour dosa
INSTANT RICE FLOUR DOSA RECIPE / MAHARASHTRIAN AMBOLI / GHAVAN RECIPE / GHAVANE
Ghavan is a traditional breakfast recipe from Konkan region of Maharashtra which is similar to neer dosa. Serve it along with any chutney or non veg gravy or mixed vegetable korma.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup rice flour
- 2 cup water
- ½ tsp jeera [ optional ]
METHOD
Take rice flour in a mixing bowl and go on adding little water to it till you achieve thin, pouring consistency like butter milk .
Ensure no lumps remain in the batter.
Heat a non-stick tava or iron griddle and then grease it with oil when it’s hot.
The tava must be properly heated to get the spongy texture of amboli.
Mix the batter well and pour the batter on the tava in a circular shape as shown in video .
You can use a laddle or a small bowl for pouring.
Cover and cook for just 10 seconds and then take off the cover.
Now lower the flame and cook in open till done .cook on low flame so that the colour doesn’t change.
When the edges start to curl up, and the amboli looks remove it on sieve as shown .It hardly takes 3 to 4 mins.
Some do flip and cook on the other side . it is optional .
Repeat the same process for the rest of the batter.
Each time while making a new dosa , mix the batter well as the rice flour settles at the bottom .
