Spicy tava idli
TAVA IDLI
INGREDIENTS
- Steamed idlis – 4
- Onion finely chopped – 1
- Tomato finely chopped – 1
- Capsicum finely chopped – 1 small
- Oil + butter – 1 tbsp
- Crushed garlic – 1 tsp
- Red chilli pwdr – ¼ tsp
- Pav bhaji masala – ½ tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Finely chopped coriander leaves to garnish
- Lemon juice to drizzle [ optional ]
PREPARATION
- Make idli batter and make idlis as per this recipe – SOFT IDLIS
- Refrigerate the idlis for sometime ,so that we can chop it easily else it will be crumbly.
- Chop the idlis into bite size .
METHOD
Heat oil+ butter and add the onions.
Fry till translucent.
Add garlic and fry till raw smell leaves.
Add tomato and fry till it becomes soft and oil separates.
Add capsicum and fry till for sometimes.
Add chilli pwdr + pav bhaji masala + salt and fry for few seconds.
Add the chopped idlis and mix well.
Lower the flame ,cover and cook for a minute till the idlis get evenly coated with the masalas.
Once done off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
Drizzle few drops of lemon juice [ optional ]and serve.
NOTES
- Instead of pav bhaji masala you can use garam masala pwdr or molgapodi.
- I have used leftover idlis.
- We can also use dosa ,pav also [tear it into small bits and add]
